Attic Insulation and Ventilation for Riverbend Homes

Godfrey roof replacement services

Half the roof problems Trill sees in Godfrey trace back to attic ventilation. Undersized intake causes ice dams in winter and overheated attics in summer (cooking the shingles from below). Mismatched intake-to-exhaust ratios can pull conditioned air out of the home through gable vents. Trill Roofing assesses and corrects attic insulation and ventilation across Godfrey and the Riverbend. We work alongside our roofing crew so insulation and ventilation get sized correctly against the roof system.

Trill Roofing Roof Replacement Services

What attic insulation and ventilation work does Trill Roofing handle?

Attic services tied to roof performance:

  • Intake ventilation: Soffit vents (continuous or individual) sized to net free area requirements for your attic square footage.
  • Exhaust ventilation: Ridge vents, box vents, or power fans. Ridge vent is preferred when the roof has a usable ridge.
  • Balanced ventilation calculation: 1:300 ratio of net free area to attic floor (with vapor barrier) or 1:150 without.
  • Insulation top-up: Blown cellulose or fiberglass added to existing insulation to reach current code (R-49 for Climate Zone 4 – Madison County).
  • Air sealing: Sealing penetrations at top plates, electrical, plumbing, and recessed lights before insulation top-up.
  • Bath fan venting: Verifying bath and kitchen fans actually exhaust outside, not into the attic.
  • Ice dam prevention: Ice and water shield extension, intake/exhaust balance, insulation gap correction.

Attic work and roof work are connected. A new roof on a poorly ventilated attic shortens shingle life by 30-50%. Trill includes ventilation assessment in every roof replacement quote so the underlying conditions get addressed. Illinois IDFPR licensed (#104.020330), fully insured.

Andy and Trill Roofing provided great service and a quality roof replacement. He was timely and responsive in providing a quote and was affordable. We had to replace our roof and plywood across several areas. He and his team got it done … More in a day and provided photos during and after the job - even drone photos!! Wonderful company and would highly recommend them!

Calling Trill was a great decision.. for many reasons.
But here are the two that stand out to me the most:
    1)
When I was going to get a new roof prior to calling Trill, the insurance was only going to cover 25% of the cost based on what
… More the adjuster told them.
I called Trill Roofing & Andy personally went to my house to meet with the adjuster to ensure they gave us a fair inspection. The adjuster was going to cover 50%. Andy then went back to my house, took pictures of the roof, & sent it to our insurance. The insurance ended up covering the full price (minus deductible), thanks to Andy. I can't thank him enough.
    2)
These guys are EFFICIENT & waste ZERO time. They were at my house within 2 days of getting our claim started & the job was completed in one day. (I literally left that morning, and then got home that evening with a new roof on my house.) It was great work, at a great price - zero corners were cut. The new roof looks amazing.
    3)
I have dogs & they were very diligent about cleaning up nails & other material.
    10/10 would recommend.

We had Trill replace my mother-in-laws roof and gutters. Him and his crew did an amazing job. They were fast to get the job started and Andy was very forthcoming about everything in a way that my mother-in-law understood it. I would recommend … More Trill to everyone and am very grateful for everything they did. Roof looks great and they cleaned up very well when finished. Awesome job all around.

I absolutely love Trill and what they did to our roof! Andy was easy to work with. He took the time to inspect our roof and since the roof hasn't been maintained over the years, we had to replace it. The price was the best out of all … More the bids we got. Their work is phenomenal! They're very professional and did a great job of cleaning up after the roof was finished. I recommend Trill anytime you need a new roof and they also do siding. Thank you Andy!
