Should gutters be replaced at the same time as the roof?

Yes if your gutters are older than 15 years, showing seam leaks, or sagging. The reason: gutter installation is fastest and cheapest when the fascia is exposed during roof work. Pulling the old gutters off, exposing the rotted fascia behind them, and re-installing new gutters costs roughly $9 to $13 per linear foot when done with the roof — versus $14 to $18 per foot as a standalone job later.

If your gutters are under 15 years and showing no failure signs, Trill leaves them in place. We’ll mention the rough remaining life during the inspection but won’t push a replacement that isn’t needed. About one in three roof replacements at Trill includes a gutter replacement; the rest keep their existing gutters with maybe a minor adjustment to align with the new drip edge plane.
