Does ridge vent affect the look of the roof line?

A modern ridge vent disappears under the cap shingles. The vent itself is a low-profile (less than 1 inch tall) plastic strip nailed along the ridge slot, and the matching shingle cap installs over it. From the ground, the ridge looks identical to a non-vented roof.

The older designs that visibly raised the ridge by 2 to 3 inches are not what Trill installs. If your existing roof has that older ‘humped’ ridge look and you’re replacing, the new installation will sit flush — a subtle but noticeable upgrade in roof aesthetics. We can show photos of the before/after profile on any inspection visit.
