Insurance & Storm Damage · FAQ

What photos should I take to support a roof insurance claim?

Six photo types make the difference. First, wide-angle shots of each slope showing the overall roof condition. Second, close-ups of each damaged area with a coin or ruler for scale. Third, the affected surfaces from multiple angles. Fourth, any debris (broken shingles, granule piles in gutters or downspout exits). Fifth, interior photos of any leak path or ceiling damage. Sixth, dated documentation (a current newspaper or a phone showing the date in frame).

Trill includes a free claim-documentation visit on any storm-damage assessment. We bring a measuring tape, a 50-foot lift if needed, and a documented photo template that aligns with most carrier requirements. The package goes to you and stays in our files; you submit it to the carrier directly. About 90% of well-documented claims pay out within 30 days; poorly documented ones drag for months and frequently underpay.
