How much insurance discount do Class 4 shingles earn in Illinois?

State Farm, Allstate, and Farmers all offer Class 4 discounts in Illinois, typically 15 to 28% off the wind and hail portion of your premium. On a Madison County home insured for $300,000 with a $1,800 annual premium, that’s $180 to $300 back every year. The discount applies for the full life of the roof.

To qualify, the installer must give you a manufacturer certification showing the shingle passed UL 2218 Class 4 testing. Trill provides this certificate on every Class 4 installation. Some carriers also waive the wind and hail deductible on Class 4 roofs. Ask your agent before the install so the discount kicks in at the next policy renewal.
