Which Illinois insurance carrier pays claims fastest?
In Trill’s experience handling Madison County claims: State Farm averages 18 to 30 days from claim filing to payment for documented hail damage. Allstate averages 25 to 40 days. Farmers averages 30 to 50 days. Smaller carriers (Country Financial, Pekin Insurance) often pay faster than the big three, in the 15 to 25 day range.
The variation isn’t a quality difference per carrier; it’s a process difference. State Farm uses internal adjusters who can authorize payment quickly. Allstate and Farmers more often use third-party adjusters who add a routing step. The differences in approval rates, however, are smaller than the speed differences — all three carriers approve roughly 75 to 85% of legitimately documented claims. The key variable in claim outcomes is documentation quality, not which carrier you have.
