How much longer does a metal roof installation take?

Roughly 1.5x to 2x as long as asphalt for the same area. A 30-square home that asphalts in two days takes three to four days in standing-seam metal. The difference is panel fabrication (we roll each panel to the exact eave-to-ridge length on-site), the slower fastening process, and the more careful weather-watching since panels shouldn’t go down wet.

The schedule builds in this difference automatically — Trill won’t promise a 2-day metal install just because we can do a 2-day asphalt install. Metal installations also require a longer continuous weather window (3 to 5 clear days), which sometimes pushes the start date back by a week or two during unstable spring or fall weather. We confirm a stable forecast before starting metal jobs.
