Insurance & Storm Damage · FAQ
Are roof warranties transferable to a new owner?
Most manufacturer warranties allow a one-time transfer to the next homeowner if done within 60 days of the sale, often with a small administrative fee ($75 to $200). Workmanship warranties are typically transferable only if the installer agrees (Trill always agrees).
This matters at resale. A transferable warranty is worth roughly $4,000 to $8,000 in buyer-perceived value on a typical home. Trill provides the warranty transfer paperwork as part of the post-sale service for any past customer — we just need 60 days’ notice. The transfer is a small administrative task that significantly strengthens a home’s listing. Roughly 30% of our past customers exercise the transfer when they sell.
